Some years ago I was part of a group of professors of new TV talent show "Operación Triunfo", Mega Channel, where my place to guide and teach young singers projects on arts marketing, image and communication. I remember much emphasis on the importance of managing the artistic product with professionalism and thoroughness. Not only sing well enough but we must work not only the musical aspect but to guide the race under the parameters of the marketing and strategies for success and the public projection of not only our country but also outside, because now the artists are now global.
Many of the young contestants singing the "academy" reality "look at me as if thinking:" the nonsense that speaks to me I just have to sing well. " Now, where are they? Time has given me the reason. None of the participants of this program failed to reach a high level even in the music of Chile. No longer exist. Figures were never even projection. Except for some honorable exceptions out there.
television programs "Factor X", "My Name Is" and "I am" I raised the same concern What will participants when complete the programs? Was it just a "hook" to generate harmony? It is no coincidence that three channels are the same. In fact, the only major program is "X Factor" because it is a serious job. Yes, it bothers me vulgar and inartistic as it is the ballet that accompanies the singers. Sometimes even bother and distract from the important thing: music. Not justified. Other programs
"My Name Is" and "I Am" do nothing. Only "circus." I think it is nothing to imitate, I never liked because it indicates that the imitators were unable to create something themselves and be different. But they serve to the end and to get into their lives. That sells.
I think the winners of "Factor X" also would drift and it is very unlikely that any of them reached the top, at least in Chile, (or think about one project in Latin America) as it not only sing well enough or "beautiful" but you need to know to handle the music business, an industry that generates billions of dollars worldwide to achieve success and where you need to know the "business of entertainment." In this program there are several that would be great figures, better than the current singers, but is "give the width" to understand how it works artistic or marketing end up singing in pubs and success? Time will tell.
